Bonnie & Clyde
Astra Hall - 2024
Dir. Seán Sheehy
Sheehy’s take on the infamous bank robbers’ tale of love and loss was “thought-provoking and highly original.” (Pat McElwain, AIMS)
In this production, Sheehy originated the dancing roles of the Idols. Loosely based on the real people of Clara Bow and Al Capone, the Actress and the Gangster portrayed the tragic tale of the eponymous pair through the medium of dance. The Idols acted as a visual touchstone representing the development of Bonnie and Clyde’s hopes and dreams.
Set to the non-traditional score by Frank Wildhorn, captivating lyrics by Don Black, and compelling book by Ivan Menchill.
